It doesn’t matter how productive and how much clarity you have on the direction that you want to give your business if your team can’t follow that clarity and that direction.
I was talking with a prospect about our services at Nozbe.Consulting and he ask me for an example of what kind of alignment and training we do for teams on Nozbe.
I look at him and asked if he and his wife buy groceries daily, weekly or monthly. He mention mostly weekly. It is interesting I reply, you have a system for those groceries, you and your wife have a system; now let me ask you a quick question: “Is this System something conscious or something unconscious?”
Most of the productivity things we do are completely unconscious, we do them, we are good at them, but we can’t explain them to anyone.
Same as the groceries, they had a system, but they could not explained to anyone, it got even better when the wife join the call (she also works on the business) and I asked the same question and we discover that the current system can be improved.
After a brief conversation I then asked them if they have consider explaining the grocery system to their kids (that are now in college) and they both look at me puzzled. They have not, as their parents didn’t do it before. They figure it out, in the same way that your team it is trying to figure it out!
Then I finish answering his question explaining that what we do is bringing those ideas, practices and initiatives, transforming them into systems that we can explain and do consistently on the business.
We use Nozbe not only to execute this systems, but to be able to have a common ground. After we identify this systems, we work into improving them and make sure that everyone understand and that we can make them work into their organizations and for the goals that such organization (and the owners of the organization) had.
We focus on three main things: Moving Communication to Nozbe. Learning and implementing Task-based Communication on your Organization. Change your old “Project Management” approach to a Solution Management Approach.
I ask you, for your business… how many unconscious systems do you have? Can you explained them? Can you teach them? Can you adapt them so they work as well or even better for others in your circle of influence.
If you answer NO then maybe we should talk!
